“Participating in the Leadership Development Center has been one of the most beneficial activities I have done at Penn State. Not only did I learn more about myself and what I am capable of, but I gained the knowledge and resources to improve on the qualities I know are not my strongest. Having a professional assessment of my abilities has given me confidence in my leadership qualities and encouraged me to seek out opportunities to grow as a leader."
“Thinking back on my experiences with the LDC, I am confident in saying that the LDC helped provide insight into the working world and helped me identify areas of opportunity within my own skill set. Working in ambiguity, prioritizing multiple tasks, and communicating effectively were all part of the LDC, and are challenges that I face every day today. Looking back at my assessment and identifying effective ways to improve my skills or hidden weaknesses have helped me become a better manager."
“There is a multitude of reasons I enjoy making the lengthy trip from Boulder, CO to participate in the Leadership Development Center. To start, I benefited from many people who supported me when I was a student at PSU, and for that, I want to give back. It is very gratifying to have the opportunity to lend my support to the current students first hand. Passing on the experiences I have attained in my professional career is my way of saying thank you to those who helped me. I take pleasure in being a part of the enthusiasm and commitment of the Development Center. I admire how the students fully immerse themselves in the activities. LDC, in my opinion, is an invaluable chance for students to develop the critical skills necessary for interviewing and launching themselves into successful and varied careers."
